I am a sculptor, woodworker, design/builder and educator based in and around Montpelier, VT. I studied visual arts as an undergraduate at Middlebury College, graduating with a BA in 2000. I went on to develop a professional practice around furniture design, cabinetry and sustainable design/build while maintaining a studio art practice. I have found the back and forth between pure art-making and client-driven craft to be complementary, each area deepening the possibilities of the other. I love artistic collaboration, and have worked with artists in theater, dance and puppetry to help design and fabricate objects and environments, and co-founded Route 2 Studio with Benjamin Cheney as a public art design collaboration. I am also an instructor at Yestermorrow Design/Build school, teaching in both the Woodworking Intensive Program, and the Semester Program in Sustainable Design/Build.
